Here is a little more information click below on the link

www.tundra.cc/tundra/.

There is a model listed here that has shore power or an inverter that gives hours of operation without running truck engine. Then you can use trickle solar power(probably not included) to charge the batteries later. It's a good Idea to use seperate batteries other than the mains for this though. Optional shore power will charge the batteries back or the trickle solar will do the same. Problem is how often do you or will you be able to plug into shore power. Better off going the solar trickle route.

Hope this helps!

The Tundra unit looks like it operates like the same as a Dura Therm.
Bentz installed about 3 of them before drivers reported that they would wake up in the middle of the night sweating. This was of course while operating on Batteries (3 Deep Cycle I belive).Units would preform perfectly when pluged into shore power. If and when shore power becomes universally available.

There is a unit called DC Airco. It is a roof mounted, 9000 btu,
12 volt unit manufactured in the Netherlands and marketed By ESPAR Products. We have installed a couple and have had good results. We isolate two deep cycle batteries from the starting battery, then while the van is running down the road, your charging system recharges the DC Airco batteries. Call us, we can help. 800.837.3900
