About these companys

I am wondering if anyone has any information on these companys from persnal experences what the good and the bad about them ? I am wanting to get into expeidting and I am am looking towards these 3 companys.

Panther

Fedex Coustom Critical

I have read at Landstar you get to pick your loads is that true ?

You really need to do some research. These three companies have hundreds of posts on them, written in the last couple years. I also suggest checking out the Carrier Forums about half way down the main forum page.

Perhaps a trip to the Expo would be a good investment.

1. Landstar pays well but you sit more- in a cargo van not sure about T/T or S/T.

2. Fedex is great for T/T and S/T- cargo vans run a little bit slower.

3. Panther is good for T/T/ and S/T if you like a fixed rate per mile - cargo vans get paid less at panther than at Fedex and Landstar but they are also busier.

Also, all three companies will limit how many miles a cargo van driver can run within a 24 hour period and teams in S/T and T/T run a little bit better than solo drivers do.

The Expo is a great idea as well as lots of reading from past threads. If you cannot get to the Expo find as many drivers as you can from each of those companies and have a list of questions you ask each person. Look for people that are happy with their company, people that are dissatisfied with their present company and if can find anyone that has left a company and for what reason they left.

One company does not fit everyone and you might find that what really irritates one driver does not bother the next driver in the least and might or might not bother you.
