ABC Stores

Thinking of starting a retail chain "ABC: Anybody But China" LOL. I usually look hard at the labels hoping for anything not from China. About 33% of New Balance is USA made and I am fine with Taiwan or some friendly countries if USA is not available. Just spent almost $70 apiece for ball joints from Moog versus China junk @ $25. apiece for our Towne Car. Used to deliver to Moog from MS to Marysville MO. After spending so much for labor I don't want to replace them. Learned our lesson with our van in 2003 with a leaky fuel filter for our 7.3 that we got from O'Reilly's that was from China. Dealers wanted about $100. to change out the filter. Better stick with WIX since then.

I thought ABC stores were state run booze stores in some Southern states. :p

It would be nice to find stores that would not sell stuff made in China. Only a couple of problems with that. They would be kinda empty and they would be expensive. FAR too many today only look at price.

We try to buy made in USA or at least by an American Co. I only buy New Balance shoes made in USA and I try to buy Ford maybe GM. I have an issue with GM being rescued with money borrowed from China. I do buy made in China when I feel I have to, but I do my best not to be forced into it.

Support American business and especially the ones that manufacture here in the US.

Like trucks, Pete and KW are American, made in America. Freightliner (Ex American) is German owned made in Mexico. International is American with a German engine block and made in Mexico. Volvo is Swedish and made in US. These are all in general comments to what I know about these companies.

So in conclusion I would want the Paccar family, International then Freightliner as my preferred trucks. Prefer the Cummins in the International though. Those Maxxforce engines have been a warranty nightmare since they avoided def. I would buy a nice Volvo because American workers would be supported, but the company is who makes the profits and those profits go to Sweden.

Just how I think. May not be completely right, but those are my general rules of thumb.

I've run paccar parts to Canada. What do they build up there if it's an American built truck? Or does Canada count in "made in America?"
