A really dumb pilot car question

Ok this may not be the place for this but here goes.

I just got off the phone with someone who is thinking about going into the pilot car business and was trying to ask me questions. I told her I didn’t have a clue how to get into that business. The closest I ever came to that business is working with a person who actually did the route planning for oversized loads.

Does anyone know about this business?

I would call Horton Homes, I dont have the number but you can google it.
They had an office in Georgia NE of Macon, cant remember the name. I do know that most oversize loads like mobile homes etc...the owner of the truck pulling the trailer or load also owns the pilot car...usually a spouse.

If you are out west somewhere like Wyoming or Colorado the scale house people would have your info.
