A question about Haz Mat endorsement and Nations E

Hey everybody,

I will be talking with Jeff Y. with Nations Express tomorrow, and was looking at the Haz Mat endorsement they require you to have.
My question to anybody in the know is: is there not a waiting period of 30-45 days, in order for them to run a background check, as part of the requirements for the endorsement?

If I begin the process of getting fingerprinted, pass the knowledge test, and am just waiting on the background, will they allow me to go to orientation and begin working until I recieve the endorsement?

I spoke to Jeff, and am ready to jump on with them, but this seems to be the one problem which may hamper me doing this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're right about the waiting period but many loads are not hazmat . They may allow you to start hauling non-hazmat loads while waiting for clearance although it would not be wise to invest in a truck if there is any doubt about background check results . There have been cases of mistaken identity where endorsements were unjustifiedibly denied .

The waiting period can be shorter than you are thinking as well. They tell you to be prepared to wait 60 to 90 days I think, but I got mine in about 20 days.
