Well gang, after all these years I am no longer driving for FECC. My owner and I had differences today and I currently am without a ride. Hopefully I can find another owner/truck or I might have to do something different. Just goes to prove what loyalty buys you.

WOW! I'm sorry to hear that Wild Bill. It's amazing how some people can turn just like that. I went thru a similar thing with the last guy I drove for. Just out of the blue, he calls me, says because 2 others of his drivers screwed him over, he's getting rid of everyone, and selling his trucks! I had literally about 4 days notice, before I had to leave the truck at the dealership.

Says a lot for why we should have our OWN trucks huh?

I'm sure with all your experience, you'll have no problem getting a new ride. I would think anyone would want a driver with your experience and attitude driving their truck...

Best of Luck,

WOW!! I hope your at least close to the expo, you could get hooked up there in a second. Any thoughts on getting your own truck? how long did you drive for your "owner" ? :(

I drove for him for 3 years. I have thought about owning my own truck. But with my credit there is no way I could do it. I am hoping to find something else. Maybe even something around the Fort Wayne area. I would like to drive a van maybe.

Wild Bill, experience itself is a form of wealth. I hope you have another opportunity as I write this; and if not, know that with your vast experience you have the power to blaze a new trail. You and drivers like you should partner rather than be mere hired hands for honest, credible owners. You could: be an agent-dispatcher, driver-partner, expedite consultant, Housworth partner, etc., etc. You add alot here on this great website along with the rest of your peers. Thanks and may the four-leaf-clovers be on your side.:7

Bill why not give FDX CC a call and tell contractor relations the story. I believe they keep a list of all qualifed drivers that they can possibly match up with an owner. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Good luck..

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I do appreciate them.:D

As of right at this moment I haven't really received any offers yet. But to be honest I haven't be actively searching either.

Mikes dad had a stroke a month ago and I have been home helping Mike with his affairs, the house..etc. And since he just come home this week I have been helping with his care. His short term memory is about nill, and he needs someone with him 24/7. Mike has been under the pressure since this happened and I am helping him all I can. But things are starting to get down to a routine and so I will be freed up again.

Mikes dad (Jim) has been like a father to me for over 30 years. In some cases more of a Dad than my own father. I have a duty to him as a "Son" and also as a brother Mason. (When you become a Mason you take an oath to care for another brother when he is sick, distress or finacially embarassed.) That man means more to me than any job.

This is part of the reason I was home the other was the general condition of the truck needed fixed. Both were out of my control. Part of me is tired of expediting. The last few years hasn't been great and I have thought about getting off the road. But I do like the sound of trying a van. (Pelle I will email you, here is my email address: [email protected]) At the moment I am just kinda waiting to see what the future holds. Thanks everybody for the great comments. It sure makes me feel good :D
