Swiss rocker dies in I-15 accident near Mesquite - Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010 | 7:04 p.m. - Las Vegas Sun
NHP Investigates Fatal Accident Near Mesquite - KLAS-TV Channel 8 News Las Vegas
i say a motorcycle ,because this was not a truck accident .
last week i was traveling that part of the I-15 corridor twice.
that was one of the worst storms to hit that area of the desert in many years .strong blasting winds ,low covered -fast moving clouds ,sand and dust storms .and occasional spotty rain .
i was amassed to see a few motorcycles share the HWY with me .
this was no place for a motorcycle joy ride .
the group of riders should have stayed in the hotel that afternoon ,
the spotty rain could have being seeing from miles away ,and they should have never stopped on the side of the interstate .
in the day of the accident ,and the whole day before ,there where many sailing trucks .it was a real challenge keeping it between the lines . many trucks have slowed down ,and with traffic buzzing at over 80Mph ,during rush hour ,changing lanes was extremely dangerous .if not impossible .
i have arrived to the accident shortly after ,and had to stop ,so a trooper Suv with a lights trailer can position himself .which let my about 2 minutes or so to look over.
there was 4 accident markers INSIDE the travel lines, the truck, the crashed hurly ,and the very sad group of riders.
only later that night ,i learn more from reading the above links.
it is amazing to me ,how the motorized public don't understand how to protect them self .how to simply practice common seance ,and by the end of the day ,a trucker lost everything he got .
my question still remain :
what can we all do to protect the public ?
what can WE ,as professional drivers learn from it ?
what a waist of life and talent .
may he RIP indeed .
