What is a good steer tire for a fl70 over the road of course and for fuel mpg and all season for snow and dry and rain. I was offered cooper rm185 a pair installed & balanced and credit for my old tires for $550 and I was also offered bridgestone rm280 pair for $725 mounted & balanced.

The truck has rm280 on front "wavy ware from alignment off" "getting alignment as soon as new tires are on" and on the rear the tires are all virgins not caps 11r 22.5 leao "must be chinese tires or some other off brand but they are fresh and new".

Thanks allot everyone.

I don't remember the model number but a specific Michelin will yield significantly higher mpg than any others. TeamCaffee and probably some others will likely chime in with the specific model number.

It's the XZA3
but i'd recommend going with the Yokohama 670.

as you can see here :

Michelin Americas Truck Tires Fuel Savings Calculator Page

the saving difference will not differ mach ,but the buy price will for a better ROI ... unless you are planing on getting a very high millage out of those steers .

look here for an alignment shop :

I would highly recommend the Michelin XZA3 "GREEN X " We purchased a set of these tires 27 months and 260k miles ago and they still have decent tread on them.

I have no doubt that these tires will go to 325k before being replaced, and we have never had a set of steers come anywhere near that kind of durability.

The only thing that we did different on this purchase was to upgrade to the H load rating and a 3 axle alignment with the tires inflated with nitrogen.

with the tires inflated with nitrogen.

I've heard nitrogen adds 10-20% to the life of the tires. If that's true then air filled tires that are worn out at 275,000 would last 325,000 or so with nitrogen.

Problem is they are expansive "I hear worth it" Problem is its a older truck And we all know how I like truck changing lol. I would say I will have the truck until october or so. I am thinking seriously about the bridgestone or yoko 670 the dealer I am going to has them both ready to install. Now for sure on my newer truck towards end of the year if it needs tires I will invest the money into the mich tires I have hear many great things about them from ware to improved fuel mpg.

I have had excellent results with "Firestone 590 Plus" steers. get at least 225000 out of them then have them capped for drives or trailer. Less expensive than Bridgestone or Michelin and about the same wear.

Change your shoks before the alignment and then have a good computerized alignment with full tanks.
