A Deal for Everyone to Consider

I have just bought a 2003 Ford E-250 Cargo Van. It was used with only 1,680 miles on it. I am now looking for some loads to haul. I am in the Detroit area but I want to stay totally independent. I have proven to be a hard worker. I am wondering if anyone else has stayed independent or is everyone signed on to a major carrier?

The next thing I would like to offer my expediting services to anyone with info of loads out of the Detroit area to anywhere. I am not concerned about deadhead miles and wouldn't mind coming back empty. I just would like to spend some of the week at home.

[font color="blue" size="2"] I edited your post and removed some things that don't need to be in there. I started to remove the entire post because this is the forum not the classified section on the site. We have sponsors that pay to advertise on this site monthly, so how can we allow you to advertise on here for free? The classified section is a free service. I suggest you use it if you want some help.

I hope you understand why I did what I did.

I'm doing my own thing in a sprinter and my phone is ringing off the hook. While in MI today I got 3 calls from my home area wanting me to go to MI and one to Miami.

Backhaul has been a problem but I'm getting better at finding things. I am not going to net what someone at FedEx would make because my deadhead miles is high but I was not willing to be away from home for weeks at a time. After all, what is retirement for....

Tom,

Just wanted to mention that if you are new to the expediting business and are planning to stay independent you will need to have your own authority to run legally. You may have it already, it wasn't mentioned in the post, but just wanted to throw it out there. Good luck and let us know how it works out for you. We always like to hear back on peoples endeavors. It is a big help to all of us. ;)
