A/C in AA truck sleeper

.I have a Cascadia with an AA truck sleeper. I can't get the AC in the sleeper to blow cold like it does from the dash of the truck. Have the sleeper control knob turned all the way to cold but just seems to blow room temperature air. Anyone know the secret to getting it to blow cold?

If you have a by-pass valve, it isn't closing. Hot water is circulating in the heat unit as the AC is on. AC can't overcome the hot coolant.
Outside of that, it could be the rear expansion valve. A few quick tests can determine that.

I used to have the same problem, Dave is on the right track. I disconected their engines coolant line valve and replaced it with a manual ball valve. ONce you bypass their valve the thermostat on the wall cease to work, but it never worked to good anyhow. I do occasionally catch my wife adjusting it though;-)

Problem solved, low tech and reliable. When its to cold we just crack the ball valve, when its to hot we close it completly. Most of the time it stays closed because the sleeper stays warm in all but freezing temps anyway.

The way to test it is touch the heater line hose where it goes into the core housing while you been running the truck for a while with the ac set to the cold side, if the hose is warm your valve is letting coolant flow by.

Southern CA and its about 83. Don't want to run generator going down road just to run rooftop A/C. Would like the sleeper A/C to work properly.

I too replaced the electronic valve in my AA sleeper with a ball valve in the incoming water line and shut it off when using A/C. Be sure to unplug the electric valve, it sux a lot of amps when on. Also, if you have ever recharged using the freon that contains oil, it may be clogging your expansion valve orifice going to the rear evap core. I replaced my A/C lines going to the bunk showing some age and the old lines drained what seemed like an excess amount of oil. I also like to add a teaspoon of Motorkote to the compressor when installing.
