In 3 years and 3 weeks from now, Barack Hussein Obama will leave the presidency. Can we please elect someone competent and honest next time around?

Wouldn't it be refreshing to have a commander-in-chief whose devotion to country and patriotism is above reproach? Perhaps, someone steeped in reverence for traditional American values. Someone who actually worked in the private sector prior to seeking elective office. A man or woman who doesn't hold our military in contempt nor sees the US Constitution as an impediment to his or her will.

No more dalliances with full-on socialism. No more using the power of government in attempts to normalize deviant behaviors. Give us a work horse, not a show horse. Please, no more Ivy Leaguers. After the last few years, we would do better by drawing names from a hat.

No such man can get there,because it is so hard to get elected,by the time you get elected you owe a bunch of somebody's a bunch.

The GOP will have to find a likeable conservative candidate who delivers his message well - not a squishy moderate like McCain or Romney who preaches a Democrat-lite philosophy. They will also have to find someone who knows how to run an aggressive, no-holds-barred campaign. Replacing Rance Priebus wouldn't be a bad idea either. They have a lot to do in 3 yrs and 3 weeks.

There is some uncertainty as to whether Hillary Clinton could even manage to secure the nomination of her party. An obscure, untested, relative newcomer defeated her last time out.

Hillary comes with a lot of baggage. A lot. Then, there is the age factor. Hillary would be nearly 70 years old by Election Day 2016. Age is not her friend. Plus, she seemingly has health issues which remain murky. More than once, she has had fainting spells; usually, just prior to giving testimony before Congress on matters she would rather not discuss.

I would like to see Dr Ben Carson run. I am a white guy who grew up in South Central Los Angeles and this man seems the genuine article! Wise and solid in his resolve and loves this country. Grew up in Detroit and succeeded in spite of that.

So, you think the solution would be for people to vote based on common sense???
Voting according to your "feelings" is basically the same thing as voting according to your "common sense". Both are derived from your perception of the personal experiences you have had and both can lead to a "train wreck".

Our best hope is that people will eventually use reasoned sense which is sound judgement based on rigorous study of an issue. It is only with reasoned sense that people can see through the media pundits, the false promises by candidates and the rants of Bloggers, Forum Members, etc.

I'd like to see him run also, but start with a seat in the House or Senate. This would give him the necessary political experience, contacts and knowledge of the Washington system needed to run an effective campaign. Right now he's just a highly intelligent political rookie who is very appealing in delivering his message. With the proper training he would likely demolish a liberal Democrat in debate. He's a true Washington outsider that appears to have enough moral foundation to resist the poisonous corruption that seems to overtake all who enter the beltway to "serve their country".

I respectfully disagree with some of your points. Political rookie may be an asset he has run a department at a major medical facility. Also I believe he has the wisdom to hire the correct political consultants not like McCain or Romney. He seems to speak softly; however, I have never seen him stumped or bullied in dozens of interviews. He listens to the question then answers it with his thoughts. Some politicians are like the old "chatty kathy" doll, pull the string and out comes the pat answer. Seanate is a possibility but I think he lives in Maryland and that is a tough one for a non liberal. I would classify him as a Harry Truman Conserative with manners.
