OVM brought up an interesting thought on another thread wondering if many of us will recognize each other.

It appears as many of the posters have decided to change their eating habits and become slim, trim and I a m sure debonair.

It will be interesting to each other again at the Expo and I hope to congratulate many on their dedication to a new way of eating.

This might change the menu for next years BBQ along with the side dishes and desserts. Might be time to get rid of that Buttermilk Pie and go with fresh fruit?

It would be fun to start a thread with weekly updates on how the weight loss is coming along and also how much exercising we are all doing. Winter is tough, but with encouragement I imagine we will all do more than we would have on our own.

Ya know Linda it IS a once a year event..I don't know if I'd go health food crazy over this weekend..It is a time of enjoyment and to let loose for a couple days....not meaning to say we should gorge ourselves but people can just cut back on the potatoe salad portions and maybe some can bring more fruit salads and less fatty meat...ya know skinless chicken and the like...

Thinking of alternatives to that buttermilk pie!

There are lots of really good items that can be grilled that do not need BBQ sauce on them and are very good.

When planning the meat for next year I think we will keep this in mind.

I plan to try to shed a few tons this season. My goal is to get back to where I was in 1995.
I have been taking Vitamin B complex.

I am where I was in 1995,at least weight wise.Working on my BMI,if I can get it a little higher,I believe the government would have to pay me to sit home as I couldn't get a job driving, do to their new regulations. Then I could watch Tv all day instead of driving my truck

Totally agree: it's a special occasion, ok? We can relax, and enjoy the weekend, because we work hard the rest of the time. We should keep the diabetics and other special dietary needs in mind, and have plenty of choices for all.
Including buttermilk pie. :D

Last year there were tons of choices! I was amazed at the choices of food that came out of the trucks. It really is amazing what can be made in a truck and brought to a pot luck!

That buttermilk pie is a heart attack waiting to happen!

I have determined why I do not like that pie is I am sweet enough ;) Ya Right!
