Was 2009 what you expected? Was your revenue what you expected?
My Jan in 2009 really sucked.only $3775,but with that in mind,my year ended up with $198855,not bad for 121000 miles.Personally I'm hopeing 2010 is better

Yeah 09 was about 5g's shorter than 08 but then again I had more time off and was solo more often...so over all 09 was ok.

You see heres the problem Those seem to be very good numbers, congratulations on a good/great year! Most people when posting their numbers leave out the Gross income or the miles, you didn't thanks. But (you knew there was a but didn't you) If you don't mind sharing what were the loaded/empty miles? Days in service, and any other numbers that would help show what it took to be at the number you posted.

Again those numbers look good to me.

But how did it compare to 2007? I'm thinking 2007 would be a good benchmark for a good picture, how about it?

07 was a very different year...I stayed to service more and was more aggressive..a lot of things have changed for me personally/financially..so comparing would do a newbee absolutely NO good.
Only experience and knowledge and some ole fashion luck kept me in the game.
I can not recommend this profession at this time for a newbee.

I'm glad to see '09 go, don't let the door hit you in the azz on the way out. I'm way down for '09, mostly because of a pathetic 1st quarter. I don't have numbers with me from previous years so I don't know exactly how much I'm down, but it's a significant amount.

But, Obama's fixing everything, so "Hello 2010!! Let's move some freight!!"

Loaded miles were 76337 miles, total miles were 121675;was in service almost 94% of time, and revenue wasn't quite what it was in 2007,as load count was down, can't compare with 2008 as fuel surcharge was much higher,I can say averaged 1.63 all miles.2.20 for the loaded miles

My gross was down about 10% from last year.
My net was about the same if not a point or 2 better, mostly because of lower fuel expense.
Here is the thing, miles is miles.
Take your gross and divide by all your miles.
Thats all that really matters.
Total income less total expenses.
Doesnt matter if income comes from loaded miles, deadhead, FSC, toll money. It is all income.
I will gladly deadhead 500 miles to do a 1000 mile run, if my gross pay for the job divided by the 1500 miles is within my
operating parameters.
So anyway, 200k+ in 2009 and looking to have a great 2010.
And I hope all of you have a great 2010 as well.:)

09 was great, 60,000 miles for running local,
i think running over the road is easier than running local as you have to remember when all the places you are del to close for lunch or close for the end of day and making del and than doing pickup and than getting done at end of day is not so bad being home every night
09 only gone from home over night 6 times in a year
ceva is great

I have to agree, Ceva is great, just wish our branch was busier:)
And yes, running local is harder somedays, but in return I get to sleep in my own bed.
