I have a 2008 Hino 268, and the alternator is only putting out about 12.8 volts. The dashboard battery display shows 3 bars, when I believe it usually shows 5. I’ve already replaced the belt, but the voltage hasn’t changed. There are no warning lights or error codes.

I’m leaning toward needing a new alternator but am unsure which part to get. Why are some alternators rated at 105 amps, while others are 100 amps? When searching for non-OEM alternators, I’ve found some with amperage ratings as high as 160 amps.

Any guidance on the correct part number and the appropriate amperage would be greatly appreciated.

Some trucks are spec'd differently. If you have tons of electrical accessories, like a sleeper with bunk batteries, you may want a higher output alternator. All the ones you listed should work.
