Anyone have any info regarding the new Sterling 9500?? One thing is what the empty weight is without a lift axle. I've been out of things for a few years and see nothing has changed with the dealers telling you what their truck will scale. I just don't want to mess with getting the axle later and FET blaa blaaa blah. I figure I'd just eat it and pay FET, get 2 axles and be a real "D" unit. The thing is, I have my local Volvo dealer spec'd out a complete 2008 model loaded, tandems down for less than a Sterling with a Bentz sleeper. Has a smaller sleeper, but what a truck. I really respect you people as pro's and value your opinion. I figured I'd just do it right this time.

I think it will depend on what exactly you want. I would call Jon Mosier once he has that unit and ask him what you will be able to scale.
We have a 06 8500 with a CAT C9 and I believe we can scale just over 9510lbs without a tag.
A Sterling 9500 should be pretty simular I would think.
