Einstein once said,

'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again

and expecting different results.'

It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats ....

yet they are still POOR.

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot lift the wage earner up

by pulling the wage payer down.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man

by inciting class hatred.

You cannot build character and courage

by taking away people's initiative and independence.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them,

what they could and should do for themselves."

Probably more in common is that at least 8 of those cities rely heavily on manufacturing and times are tough right now.

Shoot, Detroit was doing bad when manufacturing was good! They are a prime example of what Obama's economic and social ideals lead too.

Look and see which of those cites live off of "federal money". You will then find the reason that they are a mess. Also look and see how strong the unions are in those cities.

Surprised Memphis didn't make that list. Ran by democrats and every thing there is fights around race. They are broke and have some of the highest crime in the country.
Quite a bit of corruption as well as several elected officials have been sent to prison for a variety of things.
Harrold Ford Jr. brother John Ford is currently in federal prison for bribes.

Most of (not all) these cities have been dying since the early 60's even while Manufacturing was good..Look at Detroit...Johnsons "Great Society" used Detroit as a "jumping off city" and dumped millions on dollars in Detroit to show how the Liberals were going to transform the "poverty" that ran rampant...LOL, funny thing is, it didn't work...and it won't today...

If you took the time to look, id be pretty confident that most (again most but not all ) of the cities on that list were also big benefactors of money from programs such as the "Great Society" that were going to "share the wealth" and "improve the lives of the poor" and use "Education as the tool" to fix whats "wrong with America"....and look at where these cities are today..decades later... You can't simply pay people with welfare funds..it kills their drive to work to improve their situation on their own...But look at what barry wants to do now...it hasn't work in the past ad it won't now....

Er... Well Detroit is more of a unique situation in spite of what is being said.

Detroit may end up being taken over by the state, would like to see this happen but those "citizens" are b*tching because it takes their voting rights away. Can't say much other than I have yet met another group of people that ignorant.

If we adjust the poverty level to the rest of the world, we don't have poor people.

Can't go by the "numbers" government puts out any way. They make them up to suit their needs and further their control over the People.

Example: 50% of the population is either overweight or obese. (this includes welfare rangers.) THEN in the next story, one out of every 6 in the country goes to bed hungry every night. That does not leave much room for normal, does it?
