    Dogs Death

I know this isn't exactly on point but it does involve the same Jodi. A couple of years ago, Susie had to go by ambulance to the hospital. Her four footed children were taken to the local humane society for safe keeping. They were traumatized by that environment. Susie and I talked about...

A fuel hike when Ike strikes?

After getting heads up from Cheri, I fueled at Shreveport "J" last night, 3.79. Thanks

    Cab Curtains

I've found that a couple of beach towels with curtain hooks at both ends and 1 in the middle to hook onto visor arm work well, are easy to keep clean, and inexpensive.

    New Quick Meals

I'm a fan of Zatarain's products. The Dirty Rice is good and spicy. When barb-q-ing, I've cooked shrimp in a cast iron skillet and then added in the dirty rice. It gets a smoky taste all the way through. I also like the Carribean Rice with a small pouch of Sweet Sue chicken added in.

    Parking a 'big rig'

I'm with Broomie, I have never had a negative reaction from a driver when I offer to spot for them. Besides, I need the exercise.

How Do You Remove Graffiti From a Truck?

Not knowing where your load has taken you, I would like to offer that the polish shop in Jackson, GA, (exit 201, I-75) offers the erasure wheel treatment for a reasonable price.

    OK I'm ready for this

When I switched to expediting it was with Panther II. They had a "transition team" who you could ask for guidance. Don't know if they still do, but that was very useful for me as a newbie. Good luck and have fun out here.

    The other side of truckstops

I like The New England T/S, exit 3, I-84, Sturbridge, MA. The lot is rough, the building old, looks like a dump. Fuel is same price cash or card, free clean showers (dedicated ladies shower w/tub, free laundry, full service shop (open weekends). There's no restaurant but Cracker Barrel and...

    Questions

I don't know of any company who's insurance will cover a small child traveling in the truck full time. If you decide to sneak your child aboard you are taking a risk of being caught, leading to being put out of the truck with your child and belongings and no place to go. That could lead to...

    The NUVI 760

Just had to respond to the toll road avoidance. Loaded in Dayton, NJ going to Boston area, 277 pd miles. I wanted to convince my Garmin that I did not want to travel I-95 on a Friday afternoon, so I put in avoid tolls. It took a long time to come up with the routing and there was no eta. By...

Play the Picture game, post a pic, who can guess where it's from?

I have 2 guesses... I-80 in Illinois, west of I-39. Or US-20 in Iowa, east of FT. Dodge

A smaller company that has fleet owners is All-State. I don't know what their experience requirements are, but you may want to check it out.

    Why do you do this?

That was too truckin' funny. I'm wiping the tears off my face. I do this because I've known ever since getting into a cabover for the first time in '72 that the world of trucking is where I belong. Technology has improved our lives and brought us into the "civilized" world. Here we can...

    hello

My daughter is 26 now, but when she was 2 I took her otr. I was not my husband's co-driver (just told him where to go) so I was able to pay attention to her. I can't imagine how hard it would have been to drive and mother at the same time. She has memories of hiding in the sleeper when...

I saw a T-300 that had a large Nissan sign on the box parked at a t/s in MA. Didn't see the driver, I would have been asking questions.
