What I feel (as I cross the border almost daily as well as recently have flown), is that we have surrendered to the fear. And it sucks. Edit to add "we" being both the US and Canada as we tend to parrot what your government does for the most part.

I was driving that day listening to the Howard Stern Show. Think what you want of him but he nailed it that day, it's a great listen to when rebroadcast. He also stayed on the air in a midtown highrise studio until around noon.

I don't know that a law needs to be on the books for people who are incredible douchebags. That alone should be enough. Just charge them with fraud.
