I've been reading this site for about 5 years now. I want to expedite but it's not the right time yet. I'm about a year or so away. I am going to try Sluggo's suggestion. I've often wondered how I would react to sitting for a few days. I always thought I would just surf the internet, watch...
I did some searching around on the internet, but I can't seem to find out what NPR means, as in an Isuzu NPR straight truck. Can someone enlighten me? Just curious.
Really, I thought I had read only if you stay in your home state. If that's true it makes things much simpler. I will be driving an under 10,000 lbs. cargo van, no hazmat. I'm assuming I will still need a USDOT number?
Thank you all for your time, help and input. The more I read on this subject the more confusing it gets. But is it true that if I drive a cargo van only in my home state all I need is my USDOT number and nothing else.
Just wondering where the best place would be for getting help with trucking authority. There are several web sites that offer help. I just don't know which one would be the best.
I have been doing some research on getting my own authority. Am I reading this right, if you only operate in your state of residence, you do not have to have Operating Authority.
Jefferson,
Thanks for the advise. Like I said, it will be a while before I do this, if I do this. I've been lurking and reading EO for about 2 years. LOTS of info. This post just seemed to peak my interest. I've always wanted to be my own boss and do my own thing. But from reading over the...
Thanks for all your replies. I know the best thing to do would be run for someone untill I learn the ropes. I just think I would like the independence of having my own authority and making my own decisions on were I go and what I haul. Again, I'm just in the research stage. It will be a few...
Just wondering, what do you guys with your own authority drive, straight truck, box van, cargo van, sprinter, etc. Still in the "wannabe" stage. Would really like to run with my own authority, if and when I finally decide to do this.
I'm afraid I have to agree. I've been a Bears fan my whole life, and Rex drives me crazy. I think he's had more than enough time and it's obvoius he can't get it done.
Excellent post! That is why I'm waiting to pursue this career. I have school age children and do not want to miss out on their lives. Sports events and other after school activities, and just being involved in there everyday lives. I just can't miss that.
