    Full Maintenance Straight Truck Lease

Whatever happened to that knucklehead with the rental trucks that were always too tall ? He wanted the drivers to sleep in the daycabs.....

    Cargo Van Commercial Insurance

The insurance pool in theory is good. In reality, are those highly moral and ethical multi’s going to be able to work together? A million liability is peanuts when you teebone that school bus, or hit my straight loaded with a $20 Million dollar shipment. Thinking back, we probably hauled...

    Panther 2019

Could it be that some bigwig has decided that the unregulated vans could pose an unnecessary liability? The ELD Straights are easier to control. And easy to prove compliance. ABF probably doesn’t really haul many shipments that they can’t afford to pay a straight. If they did, for whatever...

Canada Semi-trailer driver who caused Humboldt Broncos crash had 70 violations in 11 days

If that driver returns to the industry and and wants to run like that, he should buy a $printer. What’s wrong with that statement?

    Recommendations for Food

You get an E for effort, but I imagine quite a few of your suggestions have way more sodium than you can imagine. I took Taco Bell off my list for that reason. And most fast food. Except for an occasional emergency.

    I want a Job, but Need Help/Advice

I have gotten over $700 for under a mile. With no Deadhead. ( Not common, but possible)On those days, I didn’t worry about the 600 mile limit. When I negotiated DEADHEAD, it was often over .70 cpm.

    Big Truck advice

Walmart is hiring at a new rate that will put thier drivers around $89,000 per year. Most O/Os don’t do that well. And that’s about as good as it gets for company drivers. Weekend work used to be very common. Probably scarce since ELD. You have to log all HVAC work, so you may find a legit...

    Big Truck advice

Start asking every HVAC related business/ supplier if you can use your knowledge. Counter sales, dispatch work, etc. This ain’t a job, it’s an adventure. Crap money for most, no benefits.( edit, I was talking about Expediting, not Trucking in general. I imagine most entry level drivers start out...

    Black Smoke Matters...

A 30 minute wildcard once a week would be great. Most would say “not enough.” I chuckled at being past the point of two books. I didn’t do it as habit. But most get to the point of being past it. Really, it was too easy to cheat, wasn’t it.

    Black Smoke Matters...

We got emissions garbage after the manufacturers got caught cheating. The ELDs came with technology, as a way to try to keep drivers from cheating. A driver from Hebron In used his paper logs as his defense after he was charged with killing his wife. His logs showed him to be laidover 3 or 4...

    Black Smoke Matters...

I can’t argue as you make valid points., Except you want to cheat when you need to. ( the extra 15 minutes to find parking).Thats cheating. On paper or electronically. You should have parked at 9 hours. Parking was a major hassle for me running solo my last 18 months. It was amplified by...

    Black Smoke Matters...

The HOS have always been unflexable. When you’re out of hours, you’re out of hours. Deal with it. I logged probably close to 4 million miles. I had my share of 20 hour days. A couple of 1000 mile days. Two books when needed. Not my lifestyle. In the early 90’s a big wreck happened in front of...
