I purchased a 93 IH cabover in 06 with 268K actual on it for 3K, put a 30 foot box on it and it is still running strong, looks good, is well maintained and is able to haul some freight (18 spots on the floor). Talk about ROI, wayyyy better than paying for the fedup flagship in my oppinion. Not...

The 299 category you type about.....there are many reasons they got there. Mostly by providing poor service, or, just have a propensity to do stupid stuff. Then, you have the whiners, that you are not sure how they react with customers. Every Carrier ends up with these types, and it does not...

Yep, a classic example not too far fetched would be....the "guy" that turned down the load in a former post was most likely mouthing that his Carrier didn't have any freight or,only cheap/chump freight while Charles was looking. Interesting viewpoints from each side.
