We require you to have a minimum of $25,000 cargo insurance...

As I mentioned earlier in another thread, I am just a regular Joe Blow with one van, a "Common Carrier" as defined by Rocketman's post of "http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/about/other/faq/faqs.aspx#question6". If I sign a contract with this company than I am defined as a "Contract Carrier" per the same...

What work comes out of Las Vegas?

Thinking about leaving LA and crazy California, have a couple of cheap housing options in Las Vegas. I know ahead of time Nevada has around an eleven percent unemployment rate, plus Harry Reid comes from Searchlight, so that's two strikes, but does anyone know what kind of cargo van work comes...

Ford E 350 Camshaft Positioning Sensor Recall and Failures Hey everyone, I have filed a complaint with the NHTSA about the 7.3 Powerstroke engine. If anyone has had similar issues and repeated failures with the CPS, I'd strongly suggest you file a complaint also. The website is Home | Safercar...

    Current Rates per Mile

Just curious as to what the companies are charging for moving freight on a per mile basis. Ten years ago I know FECC was charging $2.50/mile for a van, but diesel was $.88/gallon also. Any current numbers/rates out there?

    Goodbye Expediting, Hello Cruise Shipping!

After 3 years of ups & downs in this industry, it is time to get my life moving in a forward direction. After getting nothing but discounted freight (Ashland, PPG) I have had enough. My relationship with FXCC has come to an end. I have enjoyed this open forum, and, as having been the 2nd...

    FXCC - Ashland Chemical

Fed Ex may no longer haul for Ashland Chemical very soon. Right now a team of salespeople from FedEx are kissing Ashland's rear end to keep the account. I beleive this has to do with some profanity on a driver sign-in sheet & now it has gone to the very top of both companies. Personal insight...

    Refusal of Discounted Loads

The following is a copy of my post on Joe's site: Well I did it again! I refused a load for PPG picking up in Santa Fe Springs going to Nogales. 538 miles for $489. And since I am on the Calif lock, I would have deadheaded home to add another 568 to that, coming to just over 1100 miles, which...

    Am I Nuts??

I just got back home to Los Angeles. I left my house Friday evening to go pick up an "A" load in Benicia up north of the Bay area; deadhead was 395 miles. I was told to get rolling Friday evening so the computer would show me in motion, even though the pickup was scheduled for 2:00 p.m...
