I was driving for an owner 60/40 split and it came out to be about 32 cents per mile after paying for fuel. Plus the FSC and any other extras. So if i had like a 3000 mile week i could clear a grand. Before taxes...

    Buying a sprinter van, 2500 vs 3500?

Still running my options was wondering what everyones thoughts would be in buying a 3500 van vs a 2500 van. Definately going to get a model that fits 3 skids and is high roof. Obviously the difference is that i can carry more weight, but it seems like most of the loads (probably 85%) i was...

Am I making a huge mistake?

You're talking about the risks....if you are driving for an owner its not that much of a risk, yeah you are leaving your job with senority but you have very little up front costs just for driving someone elses truck. Just know driving for an owner is not TOTAL freedom.

Why sprinter over a cargo van?

I have been in a high top 3500 promaster for about 4 months now driving for a owner. As i start to stray into the idea of O/O, im looking into getting a cargo van like a chevy express or the likes. Definitely the extended version so i can fit 3 pallets. definitely 3500. So far i have hauled...

That other thread about Laredo had me thinking, what other major cities or areas have you guys had bad luck getting anything going back out and constantly had to deadhead out? I want to start being more picky about the loads i take so i can as best as possible avoid sitting.

Buying sprinter vs 10-14k GVWR box truck?

Yeah I understand but I think around 8-10k would be enough to cover me as start up money. On the other hand everything could go right and I make good money. Life is a gamble sometimes

Buying sprinter vs 10-14k GVWR box truck?

Yes sir I've been working for a fleet owner for about 3 months, figuring the 40 percent Im paying to him could go to my own van and pay it off in about a year based on my money needs, conservative miles estimate, etc. Not only that but I don't like being told how long I need to stay out and what...
