    Double Coffin Sleeper??

This 1975 Kenworth appears to have his and hers sleepers. I'm betting the second is for tarps and stuff. By the way this screen shot is from the TV Series "Movin On" 2 seasons 1975 and 76. Stars have their Chauffer's license,( Precursor to The CDL) and do most of the driving. Series is on You...

It's a Team's Life Sleep almost ended our Trucking Career

Me and Carol always did fine driving 5 on and 5 off. Then the new rules went into effect. We just couldn't drive the 8 hours straight. Especially the driver stuck with the critical 2 to 4 AM period. It ended our team driving career. I ran as a solo for the balance of my 28 year in expediting.

Tips for driving a straight truck on snow and ice?

About avoiding braking during a skid. I was taught at a skid school back in 1988 to get off the brake and push in the clutch. This rule served well until ABS came along. Now the instructions are to maintain firm steady brake pressure. My last truck had ABS and I can attest it works. If in doubt...

Enjoying a bicycle again,,its been over 50 years

Welcome to the club. In my 50 year hiatus from bike riding I found out a few things. They say you never forget how to ride. I soon found out this is a myth. I practiced for weeks to regain the control skills needed to be safe in all situations. Particular difficult was to regain good control at...

Big Truck ACCURATE EMPTY WEIGHT/TARE WEIGHT

Definitely puckered. I had no intent to save money. Me and my dealer only had ignorance of the law. I don't recall FECC ever including this information in their requirements.

Big Truck ACCURATE EMPTY WEIGHT/TARE WEIGHT

Be careful about that front axle weight when specing your truck. I found I was over when I drove away from the dealer. Fortunately it was never caught for the 10 years I drove it. Guess I didn't cross many scales in the states where they watch front axles really close.

    Expediting Talk on XM Radio

Interesting you call it XM radio, years after change to SiriusXM. I was a very early subscriber first or second day. Was subscriber for about 10 years. What a nightmare to unsubscribe. a month of calls and threats to be put into collection. I believe the first person you talk to does not have...

Our Life on the Road WHY WE DRIVE 62 MPH | The Benefits Of Slowing It Down

My way of driving and saving for sure. One point that was only touched on briefly was staying out of the "Pack". It is amazing how this technique makes a safe clear assured space in front of you. Safe and a lot less wear on brakes.

    The FedEx Image

It was not a commercial video by Ring. It was a video from my Ring doorbell. (That is me picking up the package)

    The FedEx Image

When I was with FedEx Image seemed to mean everything to them. My latest delivery by FedEx Ground was made in a rusty van with no identification. Also the driver wearing a shirt with unknown colors to me <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Third year of retirement update.

At age 81 and in my third year of retirement (after 26 years Roberts/FedEx) I`m glad to report I am doing fine. I will try to attach a video of my new delivery rig. No more purchasing Diesel/gasoline for me. It even has a electric motor to assist on the hills. A big howdy to LBD and all my...
