On Call Logistics is out of business.

No wonder nobody over there is responding to my text's. I'm sorry to hear about this, Blizzard, and I hope things work out for you, job wise and health wise. Call me if you want to do some business.

    Abandoned

Those were the good ol' days when Roberts Express was flush with money. Everything changed after 9/11.

What work comes out of Las Vegas?

I've taken loads into Vegas to those exact places for the shows, and I just had a delivery to Pabco Gypsum in North Las Vegas, almost on Lake Mead, just wondering about loads out of there, what companies to hit up or just stick with the load boards? I read about the truck that has three axles...

What work comes out of Las Vegas?

Thinking about leaving LA and crazy California, have a couple of cheap housing options in Las Vegas. I know ahead of time Nevada has around an eleven percent unemployment rate, plus Harry Reid comes from Searchlight, so that's two strikes, but does anyone know what kind of cargo van work comes...

    The 1000 Mile Load

Hey Moot, didn't mean to hijack your thread here; I to have an interesting Panther story to share at some point, and I will soon. You mentioned your load was brokered out, I am the guy that gets those brokered loads, and guess what? My Fresno to Portland was one of those, and it supposed to be...

    The 1000 Mile Load

It just depends on the time of day I drop, if I have plans for that evening or the next day, or whatever. If I have time to kill I'll try to wait at least until the close of business in whatever city I'm in to try to get something going somewhere or back to LA. I had an early morning drop by...

    The 1000 Mile Load

This was the first year I had to get my diesel van smog checked. It passed with flying colors. It's true, CARB wants to force new engines or retrofits on everyone, and it has really had a negative impact on the regular working Joe's like us all, plus the crazy taxes to get the ports and rail...

    The 1000 Mile Load

I have, and do, either as a favor or in an emergency situation, or to get me back into LA. I ran a Tempe, AZ to Van Nuys, CA for $375, 400 miles comes to $.94/mile, but it got me home and more than paid for my fuel both directions. On a general basis though, it is rare for me to run for less...

    The 1000 Mile Load

Yes, in a cargo van. I just did a Fresno to Paris, Tx, and was paid $2400. 1600 miles at $1.50/mile, 2500 lbs. Corona, CA to Superior, AZ, 400 miles, paid $600 comes to $1.50/mile. Fresno, CA to Portland, Or, 750 miles, paid $1,300 comes to $1.74/ mile. They do exist!

    The 1000 Mile Load

Who the heck can run for $1.03/mile? With the cost of fuel these days we need to be running for no less than $1.40/mile, and hopefully more.

    US Express gets into Expediting

They pay $0.70 per loaded mile plus FSC. No wonder we're starving, and they will have no problem getting those six vans.

    SOS Express

Purgoose you've got that right. Everyone has their hand in the pie. I just did some UPS jobs that, because of Memorial Day, they couldn't honor their two day guarantee. UPS brokered it to Pro Courier, who brokered to to Traum Trucking, who brokered it to my guy, who brokered it to me...

    FECC Recruitment Web Page Failure

Greg, that's the page I used. It wouldn't send. Maybe the "Internet Gods" are keeping that page from sending for a reason...LOL!

    FECC Recruitment Web Page Failure

Yeah, I've got a sick sense of humor I guess. I just wanted to see if they would contact me. An ego thing... Yesterday I was going over some old posts and threads I did on this site from over ten years ago - nothing with FECC has changed! Their rates are the same now as they were then; the...

    FECC Recruitment Web Page Failure

Yes it was on their website. I filled out everything just for the heck of it to see if they would contact me. I go to submit my info, the button responded, but the page never changed. You would think it would direct you to a "Thank You" page or something. My point being that the FECC website...

    FECC Recruitment Web Page Failure

I just filled out my information on the FECC possibly interested contractors web site, and when I went to click on the "submit" button, the button reacted, but nothing happened. Shouldn't the page "submit" itself, and then automatically forward you to another page? At least I should get a...

Ford E 350 Camshaft Positioning Sensor Recall ans Failures

I love this from Guzzler at www.guzzle7pt3.com/cps.php: "The CPS (Camshaft Position Sensor) is one of the weakest links on the Ford 7.3 Powerstroke engines. The sensor has a high failure rate and common symptoms include having the engine die while driving as if you turned the key off just to...

Ford E 350 Camshaft Positioning Sensor Recall ans Failures

Ford E 350 Camshaft Positioning Sensor Recall and Failures Hey everyone, I have filed a complaint with the NHTSA about the 7.3 Powerstroke engine. If anyone has had similar issues and repeated failures with the CPS, I'd strongly suggest you file a complaint also. The website is Home | Safercar...

    Current Rates per Mile

Thx Piper, yes, I figured out what FSC was when I saw your other recent post here. That threw me off because that was never a part of the settlement check; we were just paid a flat commission rate and everything was figured in to that total. As far as new players in the van biz, check this...
