We require you to have a minimum of $25,000 cargo insurance...

Yes it is! The fact that you are under 10,000 lbs gvwr is one thing that confuses the issue. Everything in the links your looking at relates to vehicles 10,001 lbs or more. Add in the fact that in this forum we have drivers that are under contract, drivers that are not under contract, drivers...

We require you to have a minimum of $25,000 cargo insurance...

Actually I understand, and am looking into it right now. It seems I'm getting two patterns of thought here though, and am trying to listen both and learn what to do. I'm actually considering going in at 100K as previously noted. What is confusing me is when I see what Beachbum posts saying...

We require you to have a minimum of $25,000 cargo insurance...

Yep, that's what I say. The company is requiring it though, and the bottom line is if I want to haul anything for them, rather than get into a "I say/You say" game of who's right and who is ignorant of the rules, I'm going to have to get it, otherwise not haul for them. They do have four...

Just a regular cargo van. E-350.

We require you to have a minimum of $25,000 cargo insurance...

Bingo. I should have stated that I do NOT have my own authority, and am doing the multiple carrier thing. I already have the commercial insurance, and the brokers are the ones (as I understand it) who need to have the cargo insurance. Now, FAQ #32 of...

We require you to have a minimum of $25,000 cargo insurance...

As I mentioned earlier in another thread, I am just a regular Joe Blow with one van, a "Common Carrier" as defined by Rocketman's post of "http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/about/other/faq/faqs.aspx#question6". If I sign a contract with this company than I am defined as a "Contract Carrier" per the same...

My turn to ask a question...

I meant "back haul" literally, as in "back hauling myself back home" to get back to my normal life, and if I do it for $.90/mile, then so be it. My brokers won't even consider offering loads to any of their carriers (me and guys like me) for less than $1.20/mile on a load offer, usually higher...

My turn to ask a question...

Only as a back haul would I take something under $1.00/mile. That is crazy to work for that amount unless you are trying to get home fast.

Wonder how many trucks were lost to "Carb" rules Jan 1st?

A little background link on the CARB rulings. These new rules are based on a fraudulent report by Hein Tran, who "bought" his Phd from Thornhill University which is located in Israel but in the USA is nothing more than a UPS PO box in New York, which means he paid cash for an authentic looking...

    Sulfur/Fuel Additives

I do not know why the link I typed in came out as "ExpeditersOnline.com Expedited Trucking Owner Operator Careers and Truck Sales". That is NOT what I entered, just for clarification.

    Sulfur/Fuel Additives

It's a 1998 7.3, should have said that. I haven't noticed any issues by not adding any additives to the fuel, I'd just hate to one day have the thing freeze up on me because of lack of lubrication due to the lack of sulfur in the fuel. There are so many options out there, just trying to see...

    Slow cargo van freight?

I was running for Roberts/FECC at $2.00 mile when diesel was $.85/gallon!! I'd go to PHX and back to LA for $60 and gross $550! In 12 hours! I have the pay stubs still to prove it! Plz, now do you guys realize what's happening here? This site USED to be about "Say NO to CHEAP FREIGHT!", but...

    Slow cargo van freight?

Blizzard, a $1.10 ain't nothing unless you're trying to get out of Laredo. Everywhere else that's crap wages. I guess it's better than deadheading home, but Maverick who sat for 8 days at a truck stop looking at all the cargo vehicles sitting there then finally got a decent load out... plz...

December locations... Ho Ho Ho powered...

Hollyweird is no truck stop. If you're there for the sights that's one thing; I sure hope you're not driving a truck with all the traffic and narrow lanes!

How common is overloading vans and Sprinters?

So all this talk about overloading vans and Sprinters, what about getting a trailer hitch for the cargo vans or Sprinters? Tongue weight 600, gross 6000lbs trailer, if the trailer weighs 1,500 you can technically haul 4,500 on that, plus whatever weight the vehicle can carry, though I wouldn't...

    Sulfur/Fuel Additives

With all this lowering the sulfur content in diesel fuel that has happened, and after doing searches here that the results are dated back 5 years, what is everybody's current view on what additives to use to replace the sulfur that has been taken out of our fuel?

How Do Cargo Van Drivers Make Money At 70 Cents Per Mile?

"Even in a van figure new van pmt, insurance, fuel, maint, should be arround $.89/ mile pluss salary and expenses. should be arround $ 1.50" Thank you, I believe my point is clear. I have posted before on several threads about rates, and this is what I run for. Sometimes less, sometimes more...

    Been there, done that ...once!

OK, I'll ask: Why are there three different camera angles on this? Why are there cameras filming this in the first place? You can see the zoom effect being used, it's as if this happens all the time, and every amateur filmmaker in that area knows it.
