Guy Gets caught breaking into trailers, Killed

And they will buy the used cargo vans and Yellow Penske Trucks and lower the rates even lower than they are now.

Guy Gets caught breaking into trailers, Killed

And the entrepreneurs will buy used cargo vans and "Yellow Penske Trucks" and kill off our jobs. That sucks. I'm in this for the long haul.

That would be "Irvine", California. Do you really want to go East young man? It was 77 in Tucson today as I cruised westward with my shorts and sandals on, and is suppose to get in the high 80's by Saturday. Ah yes, sunny Southern California, Irvine included. Can you say "Snowbirds"...

    2006 Sprinter 2500 200K Miles, Just Bought...

Surprise Surprise! What will be my first Surprise?? Just bought a decent looking 2006 Sprinter 2500 with 200K on the odometer, new tires, with a couple of dings in the body and a freight/driver separator. 2.7 diesel, powered windows, mirrors, cruise control, etc.... Having all the fluids...

    High Top Cargo

I went to Fiberine in Wilmington, CA (the link is in the opening post) and spoke with them face to face. Here is the breakdown for a 2009 Ford E-350 regular sized CV: 18" Aerodynamic top $1800. White Gel Coat $290. Door Kits $750. Basic Installation $650. What I found weird was even though...

    December Locations

Stuck in Kingsville, Tx with a broken crankshaft. I guess that means I'm Out Of Service. 230K on the engine. And I'm a stickler about maintenance, how the heck could this have happened (rhetorical question)? Had it towed to a shop, I won't even tell you how much they want for a used (81K)...

    ceva wow

CEVA sucks. As someone who has done extensive work for them out of the Carson, CA facility, they suck. Don't walk, RUN from CEVA. They are rude, have their noses in the air 'cuz their stuff don't stink, the facility is a pain to get in and out off because it's on lockdown like a prison...

Nogalis, AZ; Is There Any Freight Outta There

I've never gotten anything out of Nogales, but then again I've never stuck around. I would head up to Tucson, that will put you closer to Phoenix in case something comes out of either one of the two, and if nothing, then you can head east to El Paso. Good luck!

Have you cargo vanners tried hauling air freight?

Thank you Blizzard for saying what I've been saying for oh so long now, and that is if you work for under $1.25/1.30.mile you're killing the business. I know that YOU know exactly what I'm talking about because we've talked before about this, even to the point of you saying that when you get...

    Is this a short?

I'm busted, you found me! Actually just outside of Subic Bay, Manila is about 90 miles away and takes three hours on the roads, but what's a few miles here or there to an expediter, lol? Thanks Turtle, now back to short circuit talk...

    Is this a short?

Just curious, and this is waayyy off topic, but the thread took this curve - I am actually posting here from the Philippines, just wondering what my IP address looks like. Talk about insane drivers, I could easily start 6 threads that could go forever about the vehicles, road conditions...

Looking to raise van roof, rear doors

Old post, still holds true. The person booking the load may be the 21 year old receptionist up at the front desk who maybe has set foot in the warehouse one time. They may no clue about dims, weight, or whatever. Nice comeback RLENT.

    Sprinter Salesmen Worried

After reading all these pro's and con's about the Sprinters, ay yi yi! I personally was waiting to see what the new Ford Transit was going to do with this years release, but now that they've bumped it back a year, I guess not. Being a Ford man with only owning two E-350's in the past 20 years...

    Sitting in a cornfield

Even in a van I've been told I have to leave right away. It's happened several times. Chemical and oil refineries, military bases, nuclear power plants, even regular ol' warehouses. I didn't know vans/sprinters are required to take 30 minute breaks.

    Yellow penske trucks

Yes. $1.10 a mile, especially in a truck is CHEAP! You wonder why they are doing it for $60/day as mentioned in the opening thread, THIS IS THE REASON! You guys and gals that run for less than $1.30/mile in cargo vans, and it goes up from there depending on your truck size, are what's killing...

    Yellow penske trucks

You should try working in the Southwestern States if you think it's bad south of Cleveland. The problem though is that all the shippers are their brethren!

    Semi hits van 2 dead.

Blizzard said there were 2 48 inch skids, not four skids that were stuffed into his van. Where did you read that there were four skids in his van into his comment?
