    The real truth about Truckers...

Great for you and the majority of Drivers; however, by your statement "just as the regulators are off base to create one-size fits-all HOS rules was exactly my point. Drivers spend a lot of time doing other things than sleeping and then go to sleep when they are tired and sometimes this results...

It is reality! People will be people and people who write regulations need a strong dose of "common sense". :)

    The real truth about Truckers...

This was my response to this person about driver safety. It always amazes me that persons who do not actually drive make up these laws. They mean well but they probably would have designed the " duck bill platypus" ! ;)Sent from Windows Mail It is really easy to solve this especially as to it...

    Bolt Express

So they say, then they offer you a .$.75 per mile load with fuel surcharge included. If they say $.85 per mile is that an average or minimum? Is the fuel surcharge included? We ran with them for awhile with mixed results, mostly bad to mediocre . I base that on experience with Roberts Express...

    Shipping Wars Star Dies

I liked him, he seemed as though he was one of two real drivers. The rest seemed like flakes to me, especially the young couple where she looked like she just stepped out of the makeup booth. Obviously they did not sleep in their truck. He was also very innovating and the rest except the other...

No Phone, No Pool, No Pets...

Sorry to hear about your bad adventures with Verizon. I am not pleased with them, I believe that guy going around saying" can you hear me now?!" was actually a customer not a test tech. We are currently in the Greenville SC area and we just happen to be in a spotty area also it's between a 3g &...

    Pensacola, Fl

I really liked to position myself between Birmingham in Cullman Al. Small truckstop there and just down the road plenty of shopping WalMart etc. and many restaurants. Also you are just south of Athens Decatur Huntsville area. You can go east or west with reasonable access. I have been deadheaded...

    Before good GPS

Directions were always adequate my problem is they sometimes lacked informational details I.e. how much distance between turns. Sometimes it made you wonder if you missed a turn and you right on the margins. Sent from my SCH-i705 using EO Forums mobile app

    Before good GPS

I like the Road Atlas also because of the Geographically challenged dispatchers. They'll say that Mt Vernon, IL is near Chicago. Sometimes you can do a quick look up before accepting a load with a lot of deadhead for repositioning or request a little more for expenses.

    Before good GPS

Sometimes they threaten to take away your man card if you ask for directions; however, it's better not to be lost. ;)

    Before good GPS

When we started with Roberts Express in the late 90's we did not have GPS. Directions were horrible and up to guessing. Usually they were given by who ever was available and it was their way of finding their way to work. Easy part was to see if they were coming from the north then you would have...

    36 inch sleeper

If you have no problem with a possible smoking room Priceline is a good way to go. I had a room at Hilton Garden Inn in Oakbrook Terrace IL for under $30. was right next to the Camelot Dinner Theater, Nieman Marcus and Nordstrums. Hotwire is pretty good. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com for what...

    $100,000.

I would purchase gift annuities from Samaritans Purse, Boone NC. That would help them to help others and it would give me a tax break and a little return for the remainder of this life. :D

    Sky King

Two things I never did in my 23 years of US Navy: jump out of flyable aircraft and go to sea on vessels designed to sink. LOL. I did Quality Assurance on Submarines for 8 years but they would never get me on one underway! I do love to snorkel in Hawaii but that is deep enough for me. Sent from...

3 years and 3 weeks to go.

I respectfully disagree with some of your points. Political rookie may be an asset he has run a department at a major medical facility. Also I believe he has the wisdom to hire the correct political consultants not like McCain or Romney. He seems to speak softly; however, I have never seen him...

3 years and 3 weeks to go.

I would like to see Dr Ben Carson run. I am a white guy who grew up in South Central Los Angeles and this man seems the genuine article! Wise and solid in his resolve and loves this country. Grew up in Detroit and succeeded in spite of that. Sent from my SCH-i705 using EO Forums mobile app

    Juicing or Smoothie?

Could not agree more. We have had a Vita Mix for many years and when some things break they replace it right now. We also have a Ninja in our RV and it is adequate but it is no vita mix. I thought I spend a lot on a Vita Mix ($200.) a long time ago; however, was at Costco yesterday and they were...

    Secrets of the fitness industry

That's the truth. We used to belong to a gym in Branson MO and they had stacks of members but beyond February the "good intention" folks were gone. My personal embarrassing times was when I was struggling to keep up 70 RPM's on the stationary bike and some guy from the Irish Dance Show would get...

    My Battle of the Bulge

Hope you get back on track soon. New year? My problem is that I really don't start showing weight until I go over 300 lbs. By that time it's almost too much. I graduated Navy Boot Camp in 1961 at 225 lbs and I looked like a prisoner coming out of a camp.:)
