    April 2020 Fools & Follies

My weekly hazmat. Toronto to south of Montreal instead of north. Still zero calls except DoD and Hazmat. Which should probably be expected for a cross border driver that refused to cross the border or do retail....

    April 2020 Fools & Follies

From what I see where it's less populated, nobody cares. No protection, heading to work in a cluster talking. Fortunately I won't be going out in it for a few days. Nursed the sprinter home. 140,000 miles is the fuel filter limit apparently, against the wind and uphill, foomp noise and no...

    April 2020 Fools & Follies

Now a hazmat that pays well Southern Ontario to somewhere near Montreal I've never heard of. Unfortunately crossing into Quebec is similar to USA, trip inspection and HOS. Pain in the ass - but I won't complain I did turn down a good paying job today, i'd have to self load in a busy warehouse...

Cargo Van Will we be able to work through Coronavirus?

A suspected Covid-19 male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose. A young student female nurse appears and gives him a partial sponge bath. "Nurse,"' he mumbles from behind the mask, "are my testicles black?" Embarrassed, the young nurse replies...

    April 2020 Fools & Follies

I'm not laid off. I worked twice in 15 days :tearsofjoy: You'd think they'd need every driver available for toilet paper

    April 2020 Fools & Follies

$581 for 50 miles... (150 miles from my front door back to my front door) Now for the gruelling 50 mile drive home. Hope this isn't a one-off. Applied for this work a year ago, got cleared about a month ago. Benefits of a clean record (or, benefits of never getting caught  )

Cargo Van Will we be able to work through Coronavirus?

Ok they aren't N95's but they are masks. I'll avoid the angry looks from people after the government said to save them for medical personnel only. Probably a good thing. There's no id card for having "medically fragile" people at home Dumb people are still trying to congregate in parks...

Cargo Van Will we be able to work through Coronavirus?

I was lucky enough to find 3 boxes of N95's in storage. Having medically fragile people at home just paid off. Lots of gloves too I've been holding off on the masks, just taking deliveries I know I can stand at a distance and watch the forklift. Going to wear them going on from here, why not...

    April 2020 Fools & Follies

All jokes aside, $8.47 Canadian. Minimum wage here is $14 I hope people stop appreciating truck drivers and start paying them. Both is great, but I take money over appreciation

$6? No wonder you quit. (Still a good choice to go back IMO, it's too disorganized to be switching places right now unless you're out of work)

Cargo Van Will we be able to work through Coronavirus?

Is any expediter actually having problems with the quarantine in their personal life? Having done this since 2006, I'm not. Seems like nothing has changed. The only issues I see are picking up car repair parts but they've got curbside pickup now, that's an improvement in my mind. So - I never...

Is a Ford Transit van worth the money?

Bought my 2005 long and tall Sprinter 4 years ago. I really don't know if a Transit is worth it, I paid $2900 Reason: shippers lie. In almost every case, it's taller, longer, heavier than they asked for. Here is still the idea that they charge by weight, hence the lies. Very small chance of...

    April 2020 Fools & Follies

Where is the April thread? Did WOM's exit destroy a tradition? It's the 3rd For locations, I'm working locally (Southern Ontario) and hiding in my house in between. I have the "get out of jail" paper too saying I can cross border and drive interstate. But, I'm not entering a country taking this...

Cargo Van Will we be able to work through Coronavirus?

Hospitals say above 60%. If you have time, they put it to the test in this article https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3291447/

    March into Spring 2020

I'm running as much as I ever did, locally. Voluntarily I stopped border crossing. Looks like my minimum workload is more than the Canadian bailout. Maybe I can collect it anyway, since it's a huge reduction in my income. With 2 people in the household that have nearly no immune system, I'm...
