Shannon, you would be better off teaming with your husband, Teams do a lot better than singles in OTR. I talked to a driver how had hauled small animals for a time, he said it was not worth it.
You will know when your Chopper is hit by small arms fire or a RPG, the picker factor is 10 ++.
Most of the time your memory is clear. The rounds of small arms fire have a tendency to bounce around , a RPG just takes you out.
Re: States & Provinces You've Been In
When we were Expediting, before retirement, we did all the lower 48 plus 4 Canadian Providences. Now 81 years old and we still miss it.
I'm 80 and remember White Castles were .5 cents and street car tokens were used instead of cash.
Also do you remember when there was no expediting,it was call exculsive use and it payed top dollar.
John, your kind gesture make one want to rush out and purchase a new Ford Transit and go to work for Load 1, but, at 81 years old its just a dream, Happy Thanksgiving .
Just a suggestion, way don't you check on driving for a fleet owner to get your feet wet so to speak, you will have no large investment and get valuable experience long the way. Then you can buy a truck that will fit your operation.
I moved Airfreight in Chicago for a long time, the problem is they are so busy with incoming freight
that they forget about the freight to O'Hare. Check with one of the larger Airfreight carriers like Pace, Ceva, etc. Good luck on your hunt..
