Emiley and I are still enjoying ourselves. We bicker quite a bit still. This week has prolly been due to lack of sleep. :) DBenton - how's the weather there? We're currently in loredo tx. Was super rainy today (still mid 60's). We grabbed our load from catapillar and went to a loves down the...

Dropped the above load off this morning. Same catapillar we've been to before, looks like something happened with their staff in the mean time since they were super polite this time around. Grabbed another load going to Texas (500 miles into that 1000 mile trip at the moment) which brings our...

Holy crap.. came back into service on Tuesday. Once we drop off this load tomorrow morning that will be 4000 miles total. This must be what good truckers feel like..

For us it seems to have picked up a little. Could just be us planning slightly better and watching the load board more. I do agree with the winter part of it. We have managed to stay away from most of it but it's already old. Even though we have had few encounters with snow, it's just a...

Look at this as an opportunity to skip winter. I mis judged a shoulder last night at a truck stop when I parked along side. The tire fell off the 4inch paved section and holy hell would the steer tire not climb back up the pavement. Just slid along no matter what I did. Stupidest problem in the...

Officially encountered the most difficult dock thus far. And I had to do it twice since one of the pallets needed to be unloaded 7 doors down from where the first 3 skids were unloaded. There were also construction fences all around the parking lot with 4 other trucks waiting. Also had to wait...

I also agree, keep trying. I had a TERRIBLE driving record as a teen (up to 7th offense operating after revocation, facing prison time) and I didn't get my licence until I was 21. If you didn't get on with panther, than it wasn't meant to be. Panther doesn't have awesome reviews from what I...

Sounds like you guys are off to a great start! Currently in Kentucky right now. Stopped for my break. If this is what they call a "winter weather advisory" they're all :censoredsign:ed if they head north in the winter. Streets have been completely clear the whole time. *maybe* got an inch of snow.

Part of the reason I haven't had cable in 15ish years. Anytime I watch tv elsewhere I can't believe how many commercials are involved with whatever your watching. 90 minutes to watch a 20 minute show! Who has that kind of time? Also: high of 48 in South Carolina today! In no hurry to leave

lol I didn't realize it until a few days ago when the wife said something. Now every time I look at the weather it's something else that seems to be hyped up and causes un needed panic. A few inches of snow is not cause for giant weather advisory. I mean, it is winter after all.

side note: anyone else getting irritated with the weather people naming all these snow events? it seems that even if a location will only get an inch of snow, it's all of a sudden a winter storm with a name. Creates extra panic in my opinion.

Looks like our Ohio load being cancelled was a blessing in disguise. How was the training? We had got another load that was picking up in Kansas City mo going to Chicago Il. We drove the 200 mile deadhead to get there and the address was completely wrong. Led us to an apartment building. We...

Just a few winter driving tips to share, This is just what I have found to work well for me so far. This morning we woke up to no snow, but there were ice warnings in effect for the area. Upon leaving my spot in the parking lot, on the way out, I make sure there is no one around and I hit the...

All three drop offs are done. Once we hit the interstate this morning we were at a stand still for the next 2hrs. I think they were "treating" the road, from what I could look up anyway. The shipper canceled our load to Ohio.

I can't say that I feel too good about it either. We stopped about 40 miles away from our first drop off last night. Alarm is set for 6am, wife is still sleeping. I'm afraid to look outside since I can feel the sleeper moving around from the wind. Our first two stops are in Omaha and the last...

Grabbed a load out of Texas to Illinois. Just delivered that. Accepted our first load with multiple stops. Heading to pick up now. We'll end in Omaha Nebraska which I beleive is due for some snow tonight. Fun fun.

Weather is absolutely awesome. Currently 68 and the sun just went down. The loves that we stopped at for the night has a big patch of grass where we parked and we were able to let the dog run out all his energy. It's amazing how much weather effects your mood.
