Tips for driving a straight truck on snow and ice?

How about the ATC is straight trucks? I've heard it's not really worth much in a TT with air brakes but a ST with disc brakes?

    Questions

Yeah now that I'm close to a year with my starter credit card I need to look into one of those with rewards points. It's the same thing where if you pay it off each month there's no interest and those reward points are basically free money?

    Questions

Do courier work for sure. But a cheap van. Make sure you get a loan for it to build up your credit. Do that until you're 21. Unless you're like real close to being 21, then I would just wait it out. Regardless, start building your credit. It's going to help you out so much later on if you...

Wow that sucks. I guess just because the roads are clear doesn't mean parking lots are. Appreciate the help.

Tips for driving a straight truck on snow and ice?

So it really need to be a daily thing of paying attention to where the snow and rain falls and assume if your in that area the following day or two that it will re freeze? Then when you get to that area what would be the warning sign that there is indeed ice? from what I see in pics it just...

Tips for driving a straight truck on snow and ice?

I'm in a freightliner straight truck with a sleeper and this season will be my first time driving in winter for the most part. I had a few snow drives in my 4 months of TT but nothing that changed the roads. Also I'm from coastal South Carolina, we don't do snow. So in a nutshell I'm nervous...

    Expediters Services

WIOA is basically financial aid for non college courses like truck driving or welding. As long as your household income is under a certain amount you should qualify. That amount varies by state. When you go talk to the school recruiter they should tell you about it.

    Expediters Services

Look into the WIOA program in your state. If you qualify you can go to a private cdl school for free. I dont recommend going to a company sponsored school. Get your class A, then if you don't want to ever mess with a TT again, which I definately don't, Find a fleet owner for a straight truck...

    Expediters Services

Yeah like DS said im pretty sure are a truck financing company. With the PTO program and probably without it they do act as a fleet owner where you They would supply a truck and lease it onto a company like panther or fxcc. But they are not a broker/dispatch themselves. As far as I understand...

Planet fitness or Anytime fitness better for expediting?

From what I see, about half would be no problem and the other half you would pretty much have to go at night when there's not a lot of people. I'm probably going to go back to a van for the simple fact that I'll be able to stay in shape and not have to worry about hour limits combined with...

Looking for companies to hire cargo van drivers

Also the trucking jobs section will give a list of companies sorted by vehicle type. Then you can probably do some googling to find some other ones.

    How does pay work

Almost any big name reputable broker will do direct deposit. Are you talking about running for an owner or being an owner operator. Either way they should be doing direct deposit or I would question it. O/o: Line haul + fsc + bonuses (layover, hand unload, negotiated bonus etc) - fuel -...

Why does Fedex CC not accept applicants from Florida?

    1. Theres not a lot of Freight moving out of south Florida, especially for a van. 2. The van market is saturated....more vans than are needed for freight demands. So they can be choosey about who they take on. 3. It's going to be a liability getting you close to home for home time and getting...

Question about cargo van fleet owners.

Yeah I'll stay away from it then. Now I gotta debate putting a generator mount on the front or back. Appreciate it guys. Sorry to hijack your thread OP.

Question about cargo van fleet owners.

Very good info thanks. I'll definately use those wind whistle things. It's debatable if they work or not but there has been quite a number of times deer were on the edge of the road and just stood there when I had them. Not 100% but I think makes a difference. Anyway, how do you feel about...

Question about cargo van fleet owners.

So a unibody frame can't take the hit of a deer? Treadmill just told me to read this post when I was asking about putting a deer gaurd on a promaster.

    Promaster deer gaurd/front trailer hitch?

How so? The way it was explained to me those quarter panels and similar parts are expensive to replace and when you have a $1000 deductible it's better to just replace yourself so you don't report an accident. So a deer gaurd bolted to the much stronger main frame would be able to take the hit...

    Promaster deer gaurd/front trailer hitch?

Does anyone know of a deer gaurd that also doubles as a hitch so I could mount a generator to the front? If not are there multiple spots on the frame where I could attach a deer gaurd and hitch separately? Or do I have to choose one or the other? I can always get a swing mount for the back...
