Fuel for Thought Time For A Change

I've had a couple liftgate loads so far. But haven't used it yet. 1st one required it, but didn't need it, 2nd cancelled and got TONU. Without it, I wouldn't have been considered for those 2 loads though.

jhead64 . The Waltco HLF 30 liftgate + a pallet jack = 1460 lbs. I believe the pallet jack is about 140 lbs. of that weight.

    Solo: Van vs Straight Truck

A solo OO in a straight is doable. I did quite well for a few years in a single axle 22ft straight. Just last week I had a liftgate installed (been looking for one for some time). Found a good used liftgate to add to my straight truck. You don't have to get everything all at once. Get a good...

Fuel for Thought Time For A Change

I got it in Forest Park, GA @ Forest Park Tractor Trailer Service. It's a galvanized Waltco HLF 30 with an aluminum platform. Weight is TBD. I just had it installed last week and have yet to fill tanks , put my equipment back on board and weigh the truck to compare. I will post weight here...

20 or 22ft Box for Straight Trucks?

Width is also a factor. A 102" vs 96" . With a 102 you can turn skids and get more on the floor.

    EO App on Android

Anyone else have trouble with the EO app on Android? It started today 2/18/17. When I open the app, after the advertisement, it wants me to log in. I am already logged in. Then, if I don't log in(hit the back button) or put in my password, the screen just stays with the loading circle and no...

    IRS Form 1099

Landstar sends a 1099 via USPS and it is also available online. It would seem with "other" compensation throughout the year, not just "freight", that you should still get a 1099. Unless any extras like waiting time, loading or unloading, fsc, layover, etc. all fall into the same category.

Any money in straight trucking alone?

That's true about the pros and cons. I ran paper logs for many years. I thought I preferred paper over ELD until I started using elogs a few years ago. I much more prefer the ELD. Not to hijack the thread, yes there is money in straight trucks for solos, you just have to find what works for...
