It sounds like you found what fuels work best with your equipment, but I can tell you that the biofuels of today are very different from years ago, at least as far as Class 7 or Class 8 truck engines are concerned. The smaller diesels in the vans may not run as well on it, but you would know...

Big Truck Class 8 vs class 7 pros and cons !

Also, the truck you need will vary depending on the carrier you choose and type of freight said carrier has available dobyou. A reefer and liftgate are not ideal if you are going to haul auto parts. And a reefer alone can keep some shippers from loading you. Consider what you will haul before...

OTR Big Truck O/O thinking about van expiditing..

Since you have firsthand knowledge of the loadboard, you already know what is there. I will say, as a straight truck at Landstar, there are many more loads for Expediters than will ever see a loadboard. The express agents do not have time to wait on a loadboard posting. Express agents call with...

what are the average per mile rates for LandStar Express America?

In my experience here at LEAM, You can do well with a single axle straight at LEAM, but with a liftgate you can do much, much better. I've done both and prefer the liftgate loads.

what are the average per mile rates for LandStar Express America?

On the liftgate subject, check to see the weight rating of it. Each lift gate have a weight limit. Do not over load it. Consider the weight of the freight, pallet jack and you for a total weight being lifted or lowered, not just the freight.

Also, if you use moving pads, you will need a way to secure the pad to the object being protected. Tape is common, but consider movers rubber bands. They are reusable and thus cost effective.

what are the average per mile rates for LandStar Express America?

At many ( most?) Expedite carriers, you contact the dispatch dept with updates and availability. This is not how LEA works. While there is an operations dept @ headquarters, they do NOT provide you with loads. Each agent "dispatches" each truck on their loads, if you agree to the terms of the...
