I had a young man with a 2001 Ford one ton window van ask me if you can use a window van in expediting. I don't see why you can't but told him I would try to find out. Are there restriction on the type of van one can use and is it the same for all companies? the old one

    LEA

Thanks for the come back. Now I know the agents set the rate but is there a minimum or is it just how low will you go. What can I expect for a average loaded mile. I assume LEA has good and bad agents and hot and cold areas, where would my van get the most work with them. Over all would their...

When you pickup a canadian load in the states after you stick on your bar code who faxes it to the broker. You, your company or the shipper. I just took my first load into Canada and didn't have a bar code, won't do that again. Graybeard

    Fedex CC

Rich this is a great post and I agree the industry is changing. As the owner of a small expedite operation my view is somewhat different. What I see in this business today is the need to fit the equipment to the load. I just picked up a new customer because the major carrier they used for...

    LEA, more questions

Crazy Thanks for the reply. This tells me alot and may solve my problem of not having enough larger equipment to handle loads we are offered. I know things are slow for the large expedite companies but we have the opposite problem right now. What would you consider a reasonable per mile rate for...

    TPS

Now that I know TPS stands for third party service my next question is what is wrong with third party companies. We move expedited freight for several logistics companies and have had no problems yet. Some of these logistics people don't do the best job for their clients price wise as they...

    Canada Canada

Is there still a long wait to get into the U.S.at Port Huron or Detroit. We go to Buffalo NY often and since 911 we have been going through Cleveland to avoid the wait at the border. We use one ton vans so we have to get in line with the big trucks.
